Task & Solution
When coating cars, openings in the body are sealed with adhesive pads to protect them from corrosion. Four KUKA robots seal holes in various car bodies with extremely short cycle times and maximum precision, using several automatic pneumatic tool changers from the Zimmer Group from our WWR series. The changeover to other pad sizes is carried out automatically by exchanging the entire applicator with our tool changers:
- Quick adaptation to changing production requirements
- Reduced moment load due to extremely flat design
- Secure hold, even when pressure drops
